Nurse Dies During Asthma Attack at Ogun Psychiatric Hospital as Colleague Alleges Oxygen Failure

Taiwo Godwin Ayodeji, a nursing student and known asthma patient, died after an attack while playing football and being taken to the emergency unit of the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, in Abeokuta, Ogun State. A witness alleged that oxygen equipment was placed on him but not switched on, and that his condition worsened before the medical team attended to him. Hospital management confirmed his death and announced an investigation, promising it would be thorough, impartial and transparent. The witness said this was the second death this year at the facility of a nurse from the same school.
