Masisi-Walikale: third consecutive day of fighting in Kisimba and Bashali Mokoto, army attempts to regain two strategic positions held by AFC/M23

Fighting continues for the third consecutive day between the FARDC and AFC/M23 rebels in the territories of Masisi and Walikale. Clashes have been reported in Luola, on Tchad hill, and in Malemo. The army, supported by local militias, has launched an offensive to regain these strategic positions recently taken by the rebels. The security situation remains concerning with AFC/M23 reinforcements reported heading towards Malemo.
