Met chief Rowley not fit for job, says detective raped by colleague

Linda Williams, a Metropolitan Police detective, was raped by fellow officer David Carrick in 2004; Carrick was jailed for life in 2023 for sexual offences against her and 11 other people. Williams said the Met’s handling of her case felt like being “raped all over again” and that the process left her feeling suicidal. She sought damages from the force for failing to protect her. Williams now wants Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley to resign, saying he has failed to change police culture as promised.
