More than 2,000 forced from homes in Hebron amid Israel’s West Bank raids

Israeli raids in the occupied West Bank have forced about 2,200 people from their homes in Hebron, according to Mayor Yousef al-Ja’bari. Israel imposed a full West Bank lockdown after two Israeli soldiers were killed in an attack on a military reserve base; the two Palestinian attackers were also killed. Residents said evacuation orders were announced over loudspeakers late at night, while the Palestinian Authority called for international pressure on Israel to protect Hebron’s residents. Israeli forces also raided at least 15 areas across the West Bank and demolished homes and vehicles in Hebron.

Ukraine War: Protests Announced Against the Alleged Unofficial Recruitment of Young Cameroonians

The national collective “Bring Back Our Sons and Brothers” has announced peaceful protests in Cameroon over the alleged recruitment of young Cameroonians who went to Russia and were sent to fight in Ukraine. The collective is calling for recruitment networks to be identified, deaths to be clarified, bodies to be repatriated, and assistance for Cameroonians seeking to leave combat zones.

Martelly said Haiti was still standing when he left office in 2016 and that he should now put the country back on its feet. His bid comes despite US and Canadian sanctions accusing him of facilitating drug trafficking and supporting armed gangs; on October 9, the electoral council removed a provision targeting candidates sanctioned by foreign countries.
