Morocco: Injury crisis already upends Ouahbi’s next squad

With his squad announcement approaching for Morocco’s November 13 and 17 matches against Niger in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, coach Mohamed Ouahbi is facing a growing injury crisis. Ismaël Saibari, who underwent surgery for a rupture of the syndesmotic ligament in his right ankle, is expected to be out for several months, while Azzedine Ounahi will miss around two and a half to three months with a hamstring tendon injury. Ayoub El Kaabi and Chadi Riad are also expected to be sidelined for an extended period, and Soufiane Rahimi is doubtful. Amine Harit, Bilal El Khannouss, Neil El Aynaoui and Ayyoub Bouaddi are among the possible alternatives for Ounahi.
