Kasaï-Central Provincial Deputies Concerned About Delay in Kananga-Kalamba Mbuji Road Works

A delegation of Kasaï-Central provincial deputies met on October 8 in Kinshasa with ACGT officials to discuss the eight-month delay in the construction of the Kananga-Kalamba Mbuji road. Concerns were raised about project progress, the usability of certain sections, crossing structures, and project management costs. ACGT's CEO, Nico Nzau Nzau, acknowledged the delay and said measures will be taken to mitigate it, potentially causing a slight delay in the project's 2027 completion date. Some temporary works are in place to maintain traffic until permanent structures are built. Nearly six million dollars are allocated to support communities along the route.
