National Service provides Lubumbashi’s Imara College with 1,000 desk-benches

The National Service delivered 1,000 desk-benches to Imara College in Lubumbashi, Haut-Katanga, on October 13 to improve students’ learning conditions. Its commander, Lieutenant General Kasongo Kabwik, said the donation addresses a shortage of furniture and was made under instructions from President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo. The benches are made by former urban gang members, known as Kuluna, who have been retrained by the National Service. The college’s head praised the initiative, and the University of Lubumbashi has also received benches from the service.
