Newborn Goes Viral for His Surprisingly Relaxed Posture After Birth

A video posted by Egyptian pediatrician and neonatologist Dr. Islam Eldeh shows a newborn lying with hands behind his head and legs crossed shortly after a caesarean birth. Nicknamed the “Egyptian king” on social media, the baby was born in Tanta, in Gharbia Governorate, and was doing well; the clip was nearing 200 million TikTok views on October 18, 2026. Eldeh explained that some newborns briefly retain positions they adopted in the womb, and said the medical team checked the baby’s heart rate and oxygen level. The video captures a calm moment but does not establish that the baby did not cry at other times.
