No work, no pay - Wike warns NLC, NUT over strike

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, declared the ongoing strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) FCT chapter and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) as political and baseless. He ordered the area council chairmen to enforce a strict 'no-work, no-pay' policy and crack down on unapproved absences. Wike stated that all legitimate demands, including promotions, have been largely addressed or are being implemented, and accused the local NLC leadership of politicization, citing the union chairperson's past political candidacy.
