Ogun 2027: Adebutu dismisses omission from INEC list

Oladipupo Adebutu, the PDP governorship candidate in Ogun State, called his omission from INEC’s list of candidates a temporary distraction and said it would not stop him from contesting in 2027. He spoke in Abeokuta while welcoming more than 1,000 defectors from the APC, led by former lawmaker Segun William, with PDP leaders including Iyabo Obasanjo present. Adebutu said he remained a PDP member, citing his registration in the party’s recent membership exercise, and alleged the controversy was meant to distract the opposition and disenfranchise voters. He said the campaign team had visited 12 of Ogun’s 20 local government areas and more than 140 of its 236 wards.
