Ogun Man Sentenced to Two Years in Prison for Stealing from Church and Mosque

Atofeyinti Gafar, 22, was sentenced to two years in prison by a court in Abeokuta, Ogun State, after pleading guilty to conspiracy, burglary and stealing. He stole property valued at about 1.7 million naira from C & S Orisun Ibukun Goshen Church and Allahu Rahamon Islamic Society. The thefts took place in May and October, including on October 30, in the Itoko area. Magistrate O.T. Odubanjo ordered the sentences to run concurrently, with no option of a fine.

Kraaifontein taxi boss Mawande Ndinisa shot dead inside Hilux in Bloekombos

Mawande Ndinisa, 34, owner of the long-distance taxi business Ndinisa Trans, was shot dead inside his silver Toyota Hilux in Bloekombos, Kraaifontein. The shooting took place in Mongondia Street shortly before 10pm on Monday, November 2; a second man, aged 41 and also understood to be a taxi owner, was wounded and taken to hospital. Kraaifontein police opened a murder case, but the motive remains unknown and no arrests had been made.
