Osun APC says it was not briefed about Tinubu campaign inauguration

Chairman Tajudeen Lawal said the party learned of the committee’s membership from a social media post shared by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, less than 24 hours before the event. The APC supports Tinubu’s re-election but criticized the short notice and lack of consultation with its state leadership, warning that the process could cause avoidable tension with Adeleke, who was appointed campaign coordinator in Osun.

The statement says Kanu was convicted on terrorism-related charges and sentenced to life imprisonment by a court in Sokoto in September 2026.
