Kwamouth: Five Mobondo Militiamen Arrested After Murder in Vanga

The FARDC arrested five Mobondo militiamen in Kwamouth, Mai-Ndombe province, on suspicion of killing a man on Saturday in Mbutie village, Vanga. Village chief Kimomo Stany Libie said the men belong to Cobra’s faction, which allegedly sent them to target customary chiefs installed by a rival faction. The five armed men were transferred to Mbakana, on the outskirts of Kinshasa. Libie called for operations against militiamen resisting disarmament, while the army has reported that Cobra’s fighters demand taxes from farmers before allowing them to reach their fields.
