Osun IPAC disowns members on Adeleke’s PCC list

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Osun State denied authorising the people named as its representatives on the Osun Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) by Governor Ademola Adeleke. In a statement backed by 11 political parties, the council said Odeleye Titus, Faribido Benson, Enorch Olalekan, Adetunji Olubunmi, Prince Adesoji Adeleke and Rev. Olatunji Popoola had not been nominated and were acting on their own. IPAC urged President Bola Tinubu not to recognise them as its representatives and said any representation must follow its official procedures.

UN votes to condemn embargo of Cuba despite US lobbying push

The United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday passed a resolution condemning the US economic, commercial and financial embargo on Cuba, with 130 votes in favour and 17 against, including the United States and Israel. Twenty-five countries abstained, among them Germany and Italy, which had previously supported the resolution.
