PANDEF demands 50% of oil revenue for Nigeria’s producing states

The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) is demanding that the derivation allocation for oil-producing states rise from 13% to at least 50% of revenue distributed by the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC). National chairman Godknows Igali, a former Nigerian ambassador, announced the demand after a meeting in Abuja and called for the abolition of the onshore-offshore distinction in revenue allocation. PANDEF says a higher share is needed to address development deficits, environmental damage, health hazards and the social and economic effects of oil and gas production. In September 2026, oil-producing states received 236.049 billion naira through the 13% derivation allocation.
