Heavy rain flooded about 70,000 tents sheltering tens of thousands of displaced people in Gaza, Palestinian authorities said. Since Saturday morning, families have fled camps in Gaza City and parts of northern and central Gaza, while water levels rose 300–400 mm at several camps. Collapsing cracked walls and roofs caused injuries, some critical, and Palestinian Civil Defence received more than 1,500 distress calls. Local authorities say fuel shortages and damaged equipment hamper the response; OCHA estimates that 950,000 displaced people live in areas exposed to flooding.
