Pikine: Man remanded in custody over alleged sexual assault of a teenage girl

A man suspected of sexually assaulting a teenage girl on October 22, 2026, in Sam Sam 3, Pikine, has been remanded in custody. The girl screamed during the alleged assault, alerting two relatives who surprised the suspect, who then fled. A complaint was filed the following day at the Diamaguène Sicap Mbao police station. Arrested by the investigation brigade, the man was brought before the Pikine-Guédiawaye prosecutor on November 2 and jailed on suspicion of indecent assault.

30,179 New Cases Filed in FCT in 12 Months, Worrisome — Chief Judge

FCT Chief Judge Husseini Baba-Yusuf said 30,179 new cases were recorded in the jurisdiction’s courts over the past year. Magistrate Courts received 23,200 cases, the High Court 6,727 and the Abuja Multi-Door Courthouse 252; they disposed of 19,292, 5,625 and 195 cases, respectively. Speaking at the opening of the 2026/2027 legal year, Baba-Yusuf said rising filings required sustained attention and announced that the High Court had begun appointing additional judges. Two Reportedly Shot as ADC Supporters Head to Atiku Rally in Sokoto

Two people described as African Democratic Congress (ADC) supporters were reportedly shot and injured on Wednesday along the Sokoto–Wurno Road by Sokoto State Community Guards. They were travelling to a campaign rally for ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and were taken to hospital after a confrontation at a roadblock. A source said vehicles were allowed through the checkpoint after the intervention of the Civilian JTF in Senator Ibrahim Lamido’s convoy.
