Pink October: At least 43 suspected breast and cervical cancer cases recorded in three health zones in Kivu

The Pink October campaign run in October by the Bunyakiri health zone and the DRC Girls Reporters Clubs reached more than 580 people across three health zones in Kalehe, South Kivu, and Walikale, North Kivu. The teams provided 113 free consultations and identified 43 suspected cases, including one considered probable in Bunyakiri. Chief medical officer Dr. Marquis Chiralo said further tests are needed to confirm or rule out the diseases. Health and community officials called for more resources so the women concerned can learn their actual health status.
