Police arrest three over suspected ICPC ID forgery in Nasarawa

Nasarawa State Police arrested Mohammed Umar, Mohammed Nuhu and Ibrahim Suleiman during a patrol in Bukan Sidi, Lafia. Officers intercepted the three men in an unregistered Lexus IS 250; Nuhu claimed to be an ICPC officer and presented an identity card that preliminary findings suggest may be forged. Umar, who was driving, could not satisfactorily explain the vehicle’s ownership, while investigators are also examining an alleged link between Suleiman and the Eiye Confraternity. The suspects remain in custody and may be charged after the investigation, which is also seeking to establish who owns the vehicle.

Konaté was summoned to the police prefecture, identified the mayor as the complainant, and said he had evidence for his allegations. Municipal councillors responded that the relevant investment spending had a financial execution rate of about 4%, noting that an approved budget does not mean the allocated funds have already been spent.
