Police uncover fake dollar operation in Ondo, arrest suspect

Police in Ondo State uncovered a suspected counterfeit-dollar operation in Kiniso Village, Odigbo Local Government Area, and arrested Peter Desmond. The investigation began after Okitipupa businessman Yusuf Nasiru reported that two men allegedly returned counterfeit notes after persuading him to exchange $6,000, worth about N8.6 million. A raid on October 29 recovered three bags of suspected fake US dollar notes and a small wooden box; other occupants escaped. Police Commissioner Felix Ohagwu ordered investigators to intensify efforts to arrest the remaining suspects and prosecute those responsible.

Kraaifontein taxi boss Mawande Ndinisa shot dead inside Hilux in Bloekombos

Mawande Ndinisa, 34, owner of the long-distance taxi business Ndinisa Trans, was shot dead inside his silver Toyota Hilux in Bloekombos, Kraaifontein. The shooting took place in Mongondia Street shortly before 10pm on Monday, November 2; a second man, aged 41 and also understood to be a taxi owner, was wounded and taken to hospital. Kraaifontein police opened a murder case, but the motive remains unknown and no arrests had been made. Ndinisa Trans served several Eastern Cape destinations, including Maclear, Mount Fletcher, Tsolo, Matatiele and Katkop.
