Police Warn TikTokers Against Livestreaming Eastleigh Building Rescue Operations

Incident Police Commander Duncan Ochieng urged content creators and citizen journalists to stop livestreaming from the site of the Eastleigh building collapse, saying the broadcasts could jeopardize rescue operations. Teams are working to international standards under the monitoring of the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group and have received technical advice and equipment, including acoustic victim detectors. The Kenya Red Cross said 30 of the 52 cases in its tracing register had been closed after survivors were reunited with their families, with 20 cases still pending. Chinese machinery and specialist teams have also joined the operation following the collapse of an 18-story building under construction on 9th Street on October 23.
