Rainbow Coalition Will Fail in Kwara, Accord Party Says

The Accord Party in Kwara State predicts that the Rainbow Coalition will have little electoral impact in the 2027 general elections, arguing that it is built on elite realignments rather than grassroots support. Party spokesman Olamilekan Esinrogunjo criticized its lack of a clear programme and what he called a contradiction: opposing the APC in Kwara while supporting President Bola Tinubu federally. He said politicians’ defections do not automatically bring voters and that the coalition has yet to offer ordinary residents a convincing platform. The Accord Party says it will present an alternative across all levels of the elections, focusing on policy and grassroots engagement.
