Russia-Africa Summit: Félix Tshisekedi Calls on Moscow to Help Bring Peace to Eastern DR Congo

At the 3rd Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow on October 29, Félix Tshisekedi called on Russia to support the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions 2773 and 2808 on eastern DR Congo. Tshisekedi also stressed civilian protection, humanitarian access, and the safe return of displaced people and refugees. He backed the Washington and Doha diplomatic processes in coordination with African Union mediation and condemned illegal natural-resource exploitation that helps fund armed conflicts.

They call for an end to special arrangements between the Mines administration and mining companies and propose a multi-stakeholder workshop.
