Senate Confirms Eze Anaba and 15 Others to NHRC Board

Nigeria’s Senate confirmed Eze Anaba, president of the Nigeria Guild of Editors and editor of Vanguard Newspapers, along with 15 other nominees to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) board. It also confirmed Dr Salamatu Hussaina Suleiman as board chair and Dr Anthony Ojukwu as executive secretary. The confirmation followed consideration of a report presented by Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire. President Bola Tinubu submitted the nominations in April under the 2010 NHRC Act to reconstitute the board and strengthen human rights protections.
