SENELEC: To prevent power cuts, Dakar’s governor takes a drastic decision

Dakar regional governor Ousmane Kane signed Order No. 00197 on October 20, 2026, requisitioning certain SENELEC employees during the strike scheduled for October 21–23. The measure followed a request from the company’s director general and aims to maintain essential electricity services and protect facilities and equipment. The affected employees, named in an attached list, must perform duties necessary to keep the service running during the three-day period. SENELEC’s director general is responsible for notifying them and implementing the order.
