“Short-time work”: Government announces aid for 3,000 affected businesses

The French government estimates that at least 3,000 businesses were damaged or looted during demonstrations on Saturday. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced that short-time work would be activated at 100% from Tuesday and that a dedicated support fund would help businesses, including with cash-flow needs. Trade Minister Serge Papin said discussions were underway with business representatives, banks and insurers to help businesses reopen and speed up assessments.
