South Korea coach backs Son Heung-min amid rift rumours

South Korea coach Robert Moreno said Son Heung-min will remain captain despite rumours of friction with senior international teammates. The 34-year-old LAFC forward was named in the squad for next month’s friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Moreno also selected Kim Min-jae, Hwang Hee-chan and Hwang In-beom, who were reportedly ready to quit the national team. Speculation about divisions grew after Kim reacted angrily to being substituted in a goalless friendly against Venezuela, but Moreno said the team is healthy.
