Côte d’Ivoire will chair the Conference of Ministers of Youth and Sports of the Francophonie (CONFEJES) from 2027 to 2029, with the presidency officially launching in March at a ministerial conference in Abidjan. On October 16, 2026, Ivorian authorities signed the terms of reference for hosting the event, in the presence of Sports Minister Adjé Silas Metch, Youth Minister Mamadou Touré and CONFEJES Secretary-General Louisette-Renée Thobi. The organization brings together 42 member states, and the presidency is expected to showcase Ivorian initiatives in youth support, training, employment integration and entrepreneurship. Metch, the current vice-president, said Côte d’Ivoire aims to reinvigorate CONFEJES and share its national model with other member countries.
