Street-connected children face food insecurity in Bunia

In Bunia, Ituri, many street-connected children lack sufficient, balanced food, child-protection organizations warned on October 16, World Food Day. Some fled violence by armed groups in Djugu Territory, while others were separated from their parents. The children hope to regain a stable family life and return to school; organizations say they also need psychosocial support, education and tailored protection, beyond food assistance. The Congolese Union of Women in the Media (UCOFEM) carried out a community outreach action for them.
