Sudan: African Development Bank on US$55 million health project

The African Development Bank Group concluded a five-day supervision mission in Khartoum to assess progress on the US$55 million Sudan Health Emergency and Infrastructure Project. The project, funded by the African Development Fund and implemented by WHO, aims to improve access to primary health care, emergency response capacity, and build a more resilient health system, focusing on reducing illness and death among women and children. The teams reviewed project performance, operational challenges, and agreed on an action plan to accelerate implementation, including procurement of equipment, solar energy installations, and facility rehabilitation.
