Sudan files complaints against Ethiopia with UN over deadly drone spree

Sudan has filed complaints against Ethiopia with the UN Security Council and the African Union’s Peace and Security Council after a series of deadly drone attacks. Its Foreign Ministry accuses the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of using Ethiopian territory to attack civilian sites and power stations, causing hundreds of casualties and disrupting essential services. A report by the army-led Transitional Sovereignty Council alleges that 70 attacks from February 15 to October 27 involved 187 drones and killed or wounded 484 civilians, while killing 176 Sudanese soldiers. The report names Asosa Airport, the Kurmuk-Gizen border area and Bahir Dar airbase as alleged launch sites.
