The Federal High Court in Abuja sentenced Sunday Frank to 40 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to providing Terwase Akwaza, known as Gana, with information about security agents’ movements in Benue and Taraba states. Gana, a Benue militia leader, was killed by security operatives in September 2020. The federal government had also accused Frank of kidnapping, but the counts he denied were struck out at the attorney-general’s request. An investigator told the court that Frank had confessed orally and in writing to acting as an informant and participating in banditry.
