Electricity: NERC approves special compensation for Band A customers

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has approved a special compensation package for eligible Band A customers affected by power supply shortfalls from February to March 2026, due to gas shortages and vandalism. Feeders with 18-20 hours daily supply will be compensated under existing rules; those with less than 18 hours will receive 20% of the February 2026 energy cap for non-MD customers and 20% of average billed energy for MD customers.
