"They say Christians won't see Christmas": Plateau pastor alleges planned attacks

Pastor Damian, a cleric based in Nigeria’s Plateau State, alleges that terrorists and Islamic extremists are planning attacks on Christian communities during the 2026 Christmas period. In a video posted on social media Tuesday, he cited clandestine meetings and funds for weapons, comparing the alleged threat to the December 2023 attacks in which more than 1,000 Christians were reportedly killed. He said people had been killed in recent months in Mangu, Barkin Ladi, Bassa, Riyom and Bokkos, and accused attackers of driving residents from their land while the government failed to protect them.
