Professor Okey Ikechukwu has called for the complete suspension of the Amukpe-Escravos pipeline sale process, warning that proceeding under current terms amounts to gifting away a vital national asset at a knockdown price. The pipeline, with a capacity of 160,000 barrels per day and uptime above 95%, has become one of the most reliable evacuation routes in the Niger Delta. Selling a revenue-generating national asset at yesterday's price is described as value destruction.
