Togo: Germany announces over CFAF 25 billion in additional funding

Germany announced more than €39 million, equivalent to over CFAF 25 billion, in financial and technical support for Togo following bilateral consultations on October 23, 2026. The funding will support agriculture, energy, health, vocational training and economic development, including agricultural irrigation, school canteens, rural roads, health infrastructure and the Nangbéto hydro-solar plant. The announcement follows financing agreements signed on October 13 for CFAF 5.17 billion to build infrastructure in 35 municipalities across the Kara, Centrale and Plateaux regions, with support from German cooperation and development bank KfW.
