Togo’s school cultural weeks expand to science and digital careers

Togo’s Ministry of National Education is introducing a “scientific, technological and cultural week” in schools to bring students closer to science and introduce them to new careers. Activities will span science, technology, culture, arts and sports, including experiments, competitions, programming, robotics and practical workshops. The ministry is encouraging schools to partner with universities, vocational training centres and businesses. The initiative complements the Classes-métiers programme launched in the 2026–2027 school year to strengthen practical learning and prepare young people for professional life.

MACBAN also alleged that officers invaded a Fulani community and destroyed property, forcing herders to flee and leave their cattle behind. The association called for an independent investigation, accountability for any officers responsible, and measures to protect those affected and prevent further tensions.
