Trouble in Lebanon | More attacks target health facilities and personnel | Flash appeal fails

Only about 12 percent of the US$30.3 million WHO flash appeal for the Middle East conflict has been disbursed, crippling emergency operations. Since March 2, 2026, over 191 attacks on healthcare in Lebanon have resulted in 128 health worker deaths and 357 injuries. Over 127,700 people remain displaced in collective shelters, and acute watery diarrhea cases rose from 504 in week 17 to 803 in week 20. The World Health Assembly adopted a resolution calling for strengthened protection of health services during conflict.
