Trump approval rating near record low on eve of US midterm elections: Poll

On the eve of the November 3 midterm elections, 32 percent of respondents to a Reuters/Ipsos poll approved of Donald Trump’s handling of the presidency, up one point from two weeks earlier. Generic Democratic candidates led Republicans in voting preference, 46 percent to 38 percent. Trump is not on the ballot but has urged supporters to vote for Republicans and warned that a loss of Congress could lead Democrats to seek his impeachment for a third time. His approval has fallen since the US-Israel war on Iran began, as the conflict has driven up fuel prices and fuelled concerns about inflation and the economy.
