UK to deploy Typhoon jets to help defend Saudi Arabia from Houthi attacks

The United Kingdom will deploy Royal Air Force Typhoon fighter jets to help protect Saudi airspace from Houthi missiles and drones. The British Ministry of Defence said the jets will fly defensive missions and will not attack the armed group, while the UK will also extend air-to-air refuelling support for Saudi operations. The announcement follows recent Houthi strikes, including one on Riyadh’s main airport, and Saudi-led coalition air attacks on Houthi positions in Yemen. UK Defence Secretary Wes Streeting called the Houthi attacks “absolutely despicable.”
