Ukraine war: Trump willing to meet Putin and Xi in China

Donald Trump said he was willing to meet Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping in China next month for talks focused mainly on nuclear weapons and denuclearisation, with the war in Ukraine also potentially on the agenda. He criticised Volodymyr Zelensky, saying it was time for someone else to negotiate on Ukraine’s behalf, while also saying he would do what he could to end the conflict. The Kremlin said a meeting had been mentioned because all three leaders might attend the APEC summit in Shenzhen on November 18 and 19, but no concrete arrangements had been made. The remarks come as Russia intensifies attacks on Ukraine; a Russian drone strike in the Kharkiv region killed six people, including children.
