Torrential rainfall submerges houses in Benue, renders many homeless

Several houses have been submerged and residents rendered homeless after heavy rainfall in Achusa Community, Makurdi, Benue State. Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia visited the affected area and dispatched a delegation for damage assessment. Findings revealed that many houses were illegally built on natural waterways, prompting the government to order their demolition to improve drainage.
