Algeria: North-East Devastated by Deadly Fires, National Mourning Declared

Forest fires in Algeria have resulted in at least 12 deaths and several dozen injuries, prompting President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to declare three days of national mourning. Firefighters are still battling the flames affecting regions such as Jijel, Béjaïa, and Tizi Ouzou, with nearly 200 fires reported within 24 hours. The human toll includes five deaths in Jijel, four in Béjaïa, and three in Tizi Ouzou.
