Walikale: Army repels FRN attacks in Luola and on Tchad Hill

The FARDC, backed by Wazalendo fighters, repelled FRN rebel attacks after several hours of fighting in Luola and on strategic Tchad Hill, in Banakindi locality in Walikale territory, North Kivu. Security sources reported five rebels killed, although the toll has not been independently confirmed. FRN fighters reportedly withdrew toward Malemo in neighboring Masisi territory, while the attacked positions remain under government and allied control. Calm is precarious, and local sources warn that fighting could resume.
