War Against Russia: Putin Urges Europeans to Learn from History

In an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin on October 22, 2026, Vladimir Putin said Russia could not be defeated on the battlefield. He called European rhetoric about a Russian threat “political schizophrenia” and repeated that Moscow neither wanted war with Europe nor was preparing for one. Putin also dismissed as disinformation an El Mundo report alleging Russia could launch drone strikes from ships in the Mediterranean against infrastructure in France, Italy, and Spain. He urged those seeking to weaken Russia to accept historical realities and favor friendship with Moscow.
