WCED debunks viral fake Grade 10 Geography exam paper on xenophobia

An image circulating on social media since October 30 purports to show a Grade 10 Geography exam with questions about a Zimbabwean man attacked after fleeing to South Africa. Western Cape Education Department spokesperson Bronagh Hammond said the document was fake and had never been used in the department’s schools. The Department of Basic Education also confirmed it was fake and alerted the WCED after spotting the post on Facebook. The WCED was not aware of any complaints from parents or schools about the supposed exam.
