We all must earn wisdom, and begin to unlearn our inanities

Jenerali Ulimwengu notes that October 29, the first anniversary of the violence that followed an election in Tanzania, passed without any notable response. Intended as a routine renewal of the government’s mandate, the election was upended by riots lasting three or four days, during which major cities were set on fire, businesses were destroyed and scores of people were shot dead. The columnist says Tanzania has not been the same since.
