Why I went to court to challenge NDC registration — Umar Ardo

Dr Umar Ardo, promoter of the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), says the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) failed to follow the process for registering a new political party. He says the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) rejected the NDC’s proposed logo, after which the group sought reconsideration instead of going to court within 14 days, and later filed a case without completing Form EC15 or submitting required documents. Ardo also faulted INEC for not challenging the court judgment and said his action was personal, not an attempt to target NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi or vice-presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso.
