United States: Departed for the 2026 World Cup, they remain missing, a famous journalist among the list

Eight Senegalese media professionals, sent to cover the 2026 World Cup in the United States, have not returned to Senegal after the tournament, despite their visas expiring. These journalists, cameramen, and photographers, were sent by their news outlets who paid for their travel, but chose to stay in the US. The situation is worsened by the visa restrictions imposed by Donald Trump's December 2025 decree, which limited Senegalese entry, especially for supporters and journalists, to single-entry visas. Several media outlets are affected by this disappearance, which could hinder future access for Senegalese reporters to major international events.

Audience at TAS: Morocco Tried to Trap Senegal Before Being Rebutted

During the hearing at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, Morocco attempted to introduce a second report from the referee of the Africa Cup of Nations final, Jean-Jacques Ndala, to challenge the official decision. This report, intended to provide a different perspective, apparently does not exist according to CAF, which disputed its existence. The Moroccan defense also claimed that the referee was influenced by another official, but no evidence has been provided. TAS jurisprudence affirms that referees' decisions on the field are final unless corruption or bad faith is proven.

This comes less than two years after they acquired Everton from former owner Farhad Moshiri in December 2024, when the club was facing financial difficulties and instability. TFG has overseen the club’s move to Hill Dickinson Stadium and worked to improve its financial position, stating they will only consider proposals from parties capable of building on the progress made. The group has hired investment bank Moelis & Company to advise on the process.
