Wike’s call for PDP to back Tinubu in 2027 is politically suicidal, says ex-Nasarawa attorney general

Yusuf Shehu Usman, a former Nasarawa State attorney general and justice commissioner, criticised reports that Nyesom Wike had urged PDP members to support Bola Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 presidential election. He called the strategy politically suicidal for the PDP, which would still compete against the APC in state elections. Usman questioned whether APC members would reciprocate by backing PDP candidates and said the arrangement was unlikely to benefit the opposition party.
